Opportunities To Overcome

What is life all about? Why do some suffer more than others? I had few choices and struggled to choose between right and wrong. My life has been filled with questions. Very early in my childhood and ongoing for many years to come, my dreams were shattered by abuse, rape, molestation, deaths, and suicidal thoughts. I felt like I was always on an emotional rollercoaster ride, hiding from my shame and guilt. I had children before I was ready to care for them properly, because of the brokenness in my soul. I did not want my kids to suffer. I became overwhelmed with my past and I needed help. This book will take you into my life and share the many secrets that imprisoned me for so long. I did not have a lot support from family, friends, religious figures, or others. I was left alone to fend for myself. Without proper guidance it was hard to survive, to even know how to survive. I kept running and hiding, my life became an endless cycle of abuse and pain, repeating every time I tried to start over and rise above it all. My past kept me bound for years, and if God had not helped me I would have died. The torment of fighting off the inner forces within me was unbearable. The devil had a stronghold on me and while trying to fight the enemy’s wiles, God was there every step of the way, but it took some time for me to realize that and to lean on Him in faith so that I could escape that endless cycle I was trapped within. I have learned that in this world, there are a lot of people who have been hurt and are hurting. I know there are many people who can relate to this testimony, and my hope is that my story will inspire and strengthen their soul to pull through trials and tribulations, to know that they are not alone, and that through faith in God they too can break the cycle. In life, I got a second chance to live all over again. God never gave up on me, His love saved me from the pits of hell. What I once thought was impossible, He has made possible. I wanted change all along, but I had to let go of my pride and ask God for guidance. He provided the direction I needed. The love God gives and shows us time after time will never fade away. That’s what I call true, unconditional love. Life presents us with hardship's at times, and everyone needs some type of help to deal with them. If these issues are not dealt with, the same problems will occur over and over again and become bigger and bigger. Sometimes people can only take you as far they are in their lives. They can’t lead you to the promised land if they have not been led to freedom themselves. I can remember a time I would pray to God, “Please change this person,” and God changed me instead. Putting focus on people to change your circumstances is impossible, but God can change any circumstance and give more than you can ever imagine. My prayer is that this book will minister to you through my life experiences. God has turned my life into joy given me peace. It’s a good feeling to wake up, knowing there is hope and life is about living, not just surviving. I no longer have to be bound with secrets from my past, but I am set free living in wholeness. Life experience has taught me to let go and let God, and share His joy everywhere I go. I am God's miracle.
